DRYING AND CUREING
After the plant is done and chopped you have to manicure the bud, or chop off the leaf.
When manicuring try to chop the leaf as close to the bud as possible, the leaves hold the plants clorofil, which is the harsh tasting smoke coming out of the bud. So you want the least amount of leaf and the most amount of calix.
After you are done manicuring you have to hang the bud from 4-5 days, in a completely dark room, with air flow, and ventilation.
After the bud is dry it is smokable, but it is not done. The bud must cure for a month after being cut from the plant. curing is caused by molecules combining together and making THC. This is constantly happening after the bud is choped from the plant, for the first 20-30 days, but after that the bud slowly degrades. It is much worth the wait to let cure, not only will the bud be stronger but it will also taste better. In short you need to cut the leaf from the bud, hang and let drie 4-5 days or until stimms snap, jar it up and let sit for 3 more weeks. enjoy
You might want to include that you don’t just jar it up and let it sit for 20-30 days. That is why your bud is degrading slowly after the 30 days. you want to “burp” the jar once a day, so that the chlorophyll that escapes through reverse osmosis is released and doesn’t start settling back into the buds and degrading the bud. Just a helpful little tip.
Sorry about the double comment. You can delete my first post. I thought I would just explain what burping is. you just open the jar for 5-10 seconds.
Burping for 5 – 10 secs? Not long enough. I open my jars, pour out the bud and let it all air out for about an hour, then re-jar it all. I do that about every 48 hours.
